Add all the ingredients to the soup maker jug apart from the pasta.
Add hot water up to the line.
Set the soup maker off on smooth.
You can either cook the pasta while the soup maker is working through it’s cycle, or, depending on the model of soup maker you have, add it at the end and heat for a further 5 minutes (or according to packet instructions).
Season according to taste.

The potato is included to thicken the soup up, you can replace this with a tin of butterbeans or about 100g red lentils. Alternatively you can just add more tomatoes.If you have a soup maker that is prone to burning on the bottom make sure you have enough water/stock and to give everything a good stir before you set the soup maker off. The acid in the tomatoes can cause some soup makers to burn on the bottom.Optionally top with grated cheese and/or basil leaves.
