Peel and chop all the vegetables into equal chunks.
Heat the oil in a pan or in the base of your soup maker if it has a saute function.
Add the onions and cook for 2 minutes.
Add the garlic and spices and cook for a further 2 minutes.
Transfer the ingredients to your soup maker (or switch off the saute function on your soup maker) and add the remaining ingredients. Use the smooth setting on your soup maker.
