2Bramley apples or 3 smaller varietiesGranny Smiths, Royal Galas
2tbsp+ 1 tbsp brown sugar
1tspground cinnamon
1tbsplemon juice
320gpuff pastry
2tbspmilk
Instructions
Peel the apples and dice them into equal sizes.
Mix with 2 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tsp ground cinnamon and 1 tbsp of lemon juice.
Place in air fryer basket and cook at 190°C/380°F for 10 minutes, shaking at the halfway mark. If you prefer a smoother filing, you can stew the apples in a saucepan on the hob instead.
Cut the puff pastry into four equal sizes and lay out on a floured surface.
Divide the cooked apple between each pastry piece and place it on one side, leaving about 1cm of space around the edge.
With a pastry brush, baste the edges of each puff pastry with some milk before folding it over.
Press the edges down with a fork until all sides are stuck firmly together.
Baste the top of the apple turnover with some milk and pierce a hole in the top to allow the steam to escape.
Transfer each apple turnover to the air fryer basket. If your air fryer basket is prone to sticking, spray a little oil on it or use some baking paper.
Air fry at the same temperature for 10 to 12 minutes, carefully flipping over halfway. The puff pastry should be golden brown and flaky when it's ready.
