Ingredients
4medium Bramley apples
200gBlackberrieswashed
For the crumble
300gplain flour
200gcold butter
200ggolden granulated sugar*
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 180°C/Gas mark 4.
Add the flour, cinnamon and butter to a large mixing bowl and rub in until it resembles breadcrumbs.
Mix in the sugar by tossing the crumble with your hands.
Peel and slice the Bramley apples and add to a roasting dish. Wash the blackberries and evenly spread on top of the apples. Optionally, sprinkle some sugar on top of the fruit, but I personally think it is sweet enough already.
Add the crumble on top of the fruit.
Bake in the oven for 40 minutes, by when the crumble should be golden brown around the edges.
Notes
Feel free to reduce the amount of sugar added if you prefer a less sweet crumble.
