Bacon and Lentil Soup (in a Soup Maker)
Bacon and lentil soup is the perfect comfort food - and it's really easy to make in any soup maker!

Ingredients
- 4 rashers bacon fat removed, chopped
- 1 medium onion chopped
- 2 cloves garlic crushed
- 200 g split red lentils rinsed
- 1 small potato chopped (approx 100g)
- 1 small carrot chopped (approx 80g)
- 1 chicken stock pot or cube with hot water up to the line
Instructions
- If your soup maker has a sauté function, heat the oil and cook the onions and bacon. If your soup maker doesn't have sauté then you can do this bit in a pan on the hob*.
- Add all the remaining ingredients and give it a good stir to make sure nothing is stuck to the bottom.
- Set the soup maker off on smooth.
- Optionally top with some crispy bacon bits.
Notes
*If you are using a Ninja soup maker you can optionally sauté the bacon or just add it direct to the soup maker.
