Ingredients
250gplain flour
500mlmilkwhole is best but you can use semi-skimmed
2large eggs
50gbuttermelted
2tspsugaroptional
Instructions
Add the flour, milk, eggs, butter and sugar (if using) into a bowl or jug.
Using a whisk, mix all the ingredients together until a smooth batter forms.
If you have the time, set the mixture aside for around 30 minutes (or longer).
Heat up a suitable frying pan on a medium heat and add either a small chunk of butter, or some vegetable oil (or oil of your choice)
When the frying pan and butter/oil is hot, add 1 ladle of pancake batter to the middle of the pan. The mixture should be at the right consistency to spread out to the edges of the frying pan, depending on the size and (how much you put in!)
Allow the pancake to cook for about 1 minute before flipping it to cook on the other side. If you don't want to flip it, use a spatula to turn it over.
When the pancake is golden on both sides, transfer it to a plate ready for some yummy pancake toppings!
