Ingredients
400gstrong white flour
1tspfast action dried yeast
1tspcaster sugar
1tspsalt
250mlwaterlukewarm if possible
2tbspolive oil
Instructions
Switch the oven on and heat it at its highest temperature. If you are using a pizza stone place this in the oven now. If you are cooking on a baking tray, place this in too - you want the cooking surface to be as hot as possible when you place the pizza base on it.
In a large mixing bowl add all the dry ingredients (flour, yeast, sugar and salt). Mix it all together,
Add the water and olive oil and mix them together to form a dough.
Lightly flour a kitchen worktop and knead the dough for a few minutes, taking care not to overwork the dough.
Prepare your pizza sauce, cheese and pizza toppings.
Split the pizza dough in half. Roll out each one on a floured surface until they are about 1/2 cm thick, leaving the edges a little thicker.
Add the pizza sauce, grated cheese and pizza toppings.
Carefully transfer to the oven and place on either the pizza stone or baking sheet.
Cook for 15 to 20 minutes or until the base is crispy and the crust is golden brown.
