1tspeach of ground cumincoriander, smoked paprika and ground black pepper
15gfresh coriander or basilchopped
Juice of 1/2 lime
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 200C/fan 180C/Gas Mark 6.
Heat the oil in a pan and fry the chopped onions for 2 or 3 minutes, or until they begin to soften.
Add the garlic and fry for a further 30 seconds. Remove from the heat.
Add the beans to a large bowl and using either a potato masher or a food processor mash them up. It doesn't have to be completely smooth, leave some texture.
Add the remaining ingredients and mix everything until it is well combined.
Using your hands, mould the mixture into 4 burger shaped patties.
Place on a lined or lightly greased baking sheet/tray and brush the tops with a little oil.
Cook in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until they are browned. Turn halfway - take care when you are turning them as they can sometimes be a bit crumbly.
Serve in a bap with lettuce, tomato, melted cheese and your favourite sauce.
