If you’re looking for a quick and refreshing breakfast or brunch idea, this Ninja Creami green smoothie bowl is such a fun one to make. It starts with a ready-made bottled smoothie (or your own homemade green smoothie version), then transforms into a thick, spoonable smoothie bowl after freezing and spinning in the Ninja Creami.
I used an Innocent Energise Super Smoothie for this version, which gave it a bright green colour and fresh fruity flavour. The result was smooth, creamy, and surprisingly satisfying. It’s a great way to turn an everyday smoothie into something that feels a little more special.
It was a part of a series where I tested one ingredient Ninja Creami recipes – to see the other ingredients I tested head down to the video in the recipe card.
Perfect topped with banana, granola, seeds, berries, or whatever you have to hand.

What You Need
You only need a couple of basics for this easy smoothie bowl.
- Bottled smoothie or homemade smoothie
- Optional toppings such as banana, granola, berries, chia seeds, coconut flakes or nuts
- Ninja Creami machine (view on Amazon)
- Ninja Creami pint tub (view on Amazon)
How to Make It
Pour the smoothie straight into your Ninja Creami tub, making sure it doesn’t go above the max fill line. If using a homemade smoothie, make sure it is fully blended, smooth, and pourable with no chunks or ice pieces left in it.

Place the lid on the tub and freeze on a flat surface for at least 24 hours, until completely solid.
When frozen, remove the lid and place the tub into the outer bowl of the Ninja Creami. Lock it into place and select the Smoothie Bowl programme.

Once the cycle has finished, check the texture. If it looks a little crumbly or not quite smooth enough, run one Re-Spin cycle. Mine needed one extra spin and came out beautifully thick and creamy.

Serve straight away topped with sliced banana and granola, or add your own favourite toppings.
Variations & Tips
- Use any bottled smoothie flavour you like. Mango, berry, tropical and green blends all work well.
- Homemade smoothies are perfect too, just blend until completely smooth first.
- If the mixture is too icy after the first spin, run a Re-Spin.
- Add toppings just before serving.
- For extra protein, use a smoothie containing yoghurt or add protein-rich toppings like nuts or seeds.
- A drizzle of nut butter works really well on top.

Storage
- Best enjoyed straight after spinning for the thickest smoothie bowl texture.
- If you have leftovers, level the top and refreeze in the tub with the lid on.
- Re-spin again from frozen before serving.
