What You Need
For exact instructions and to print out please head to the recipe card at the bottom of this page.
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic
- cabbage – I used a savoy cabbage (you can use any type), when sliced, the amount I used weighed in at about 200g, you can use more or less
- tomatoes – I used a 400g tin of chopped tomatoes, you can substitute for fresh tomatoes if you have them
- carrots – when chopped they weighed in at about 200g
- celery – I used 2 chopped celery stalks
- herbs – I used 1 tsp of dried mixed herbs
- vegetable stock – I used 1 vegetable stock pot and topped up with hot water
The above quantities can be adjusted to suit what you have available. Any remaining cabbage you have can be used to make another soup or as a side for a main meal.
I used a food processor to chop everything up small, but you can chop to the size you prefer by hand.

Add everything to the Ninja soup maker, including the vegetable stock pot and pour water into the jug. Give everything a good stir and top up with more water if space allows.
Set the soup maker off on the chunky cycle.
At the end you can use the pulse function to chop the ingredients up some more, or, if you are happy with the consistency, keep it as it is.
Optionally garnish with some fresh parsley or your favourite soup toppings.
