Simply Cook Recipes

Below are the Simply Cook Recipes that I have made so far, check back to see more as I make them and get them added!

Balinese Chicken

The Simply Cook Balinese Chicken is from their Indonesian and Malay category. Extra ingredients needed are chicken thighs, onion, pepper (or green beans) and a tin of coconut milk.

It is really quick to prepare and cook. It was all prepared and ready in 20 minutes making it perfect for a speedy midweek dinner.

Simply Cook Balinese Chicken Curry

It terms of flavour, it was really tasty but not as spicy as I was expecting it to be – just a mild kick.

See the Balinese Chicken recipe.

Firecracker Chicken Noodles

The Firecracker Chicken Noodles recipe is from their Chinese category – it is also available as a vegetarian option (tofu replaces chicken) and is also labelled as low calorie (approx 560 calories per serving).

For the chicken version, extra ingredients include chicken thighs, egg noodles, baby corn, mangetout and spring onion.

Simply Cook Firecracker Chicken Noodles

If you love hot, spicy food, this is the recipe for you. In fact, the reviews on the Simply Cook website that were negative complain that is is too hot. It did have a kick to it, but I love very spicy food so it was ideal for me. If you prefer a milder taste I don’t recommend this one for you.

Sichuan Dan Dan Noodles

The Sichuan Dan Dan Noodles is also from their Chinese category and is available as either a meat or a vegetarian option.

The extra ingredients required are a minced meat (pork, beef, chicken or turkey), or for the vegetarian option you can use quorn mince or mushrooms, as well as egg noodles, spring onion, honey and broccoli.

The Sichuan Dan Dan Noodles is another quick one to prepare and cook. It went down well with the family and although it was tasty it felt a little dry – next time I would probably add a bit of stock to it.
