Morning Berry Smoothie

If you’re looking for a quick, energising start to the day, this Morning Berry Smoothie is a brilliant go-to. Packed with frozen berries, creamy yoghurt, and a boost of protein, it’s perfect for breakfast on the go or a mid-morning pick-me-up.

This recipe comes straight from the Ninja Blender & Soup Maker recipe booklet, and it’s as easy as it gets – just throw everything into the jug, press a button, and let the blender do the work. No chopping, no fuss, and it makes enough for 2–3 servings, so you can store the rest for later or share.

What You Need

Note: Scroll to the recipe card at the bottom for the ingredients quantities and full detailed method.

ingredients for frrozen berry smoothie: frozen berries in a glass bowl, almond milk in a jug and yoghurt in a jug

Yoghurt: use 500g of yoghurt – plain, Greek, or even vanilla yoghurt all work well. Greek yoghurt gives it a thicker, creamier texture and adds extra protein.

Almond Milk: 250ml of almond milk or you can swap with oat, soya, or regular milk depending on what you have.

Protein Powder: add 2 scoops of your favourite protein powder – vanilla or unflavoured works best here to keep the fruity flavours. If you don’t have any protein powder the smoothie is still a great one to make and enjoy. I didn’t have any so I left this out.

Frozen Mixed Berries: the recipe calls for 560g of frozen mixed berries. You can use a supermarket bag of frozen berries or mix your own with strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries.

How to Make It

It’s as simple as adding all the ingredients to the jug, putting the lid on and selecting the ‘Smoothie’ button.

I made this in the Ninja Soup Maker and Blender but it can be made in any blender that is powerful enough to blend frozen fruit.

The result was a very thick smoothie, due to the frozen ingredients. It did get thinner as it was left to thaw a little in the fridge. If you want a thinner smoothie and want to drink it straight away just add some more almond milk, coconut water, juice or even just plain water to thin it out.
