Whether you’ve already got a soup maker, or you’re thinking about buying one, you’ll likely want to know what else can be made other than soup recipes.
The good news is, most soup makers on the market have the ability to make more than soup.
Below is a round-up of alternative recipes you can make in a soup maker. As always, before making anything other than soup to double-check the instruction manual that came with your soup maker.

Smoothies
All the soup makers that I am aware of have the ability to make smoothies. Some models are more capable than others due to their motor strength and blade placements.
Smoothies are the perfect way to start the day followed by a lovely warm soup for lunch or dinner.
Milkshakes
If you can make smoothies in your soup maker you can make milkshakes! They are simple to make – just blend up some milk, ice cream and your favourite flavour – try a banana, strawberries or perhaps some chocolate.
Sauces
The Ninja Soup Maker is perfect for making different sauces and dips, but other models can also make them – just be careful with any milk-based sauces; the bottoms of some soup makers might catch and burn with too much milk in them.
Ice Cream
Among the soup makers on the market, the Ninja can make ice cream, as can the Vitamix. Although a soup maker doesn’t work in the same way as a specific ice cream maker, you can still make a tasty ice cream style dessert in some soup makers.
Purees – Baby Food
Whether you need to puree for a recipe, or you are weaning your baby, some soup makers are able to make them. They are especially useful for making purees in bulk and freezing them for future use.

Final Thoughts
As you can see from the above list, there are plenty of options for alternative recipes you can make in a soup maker – although soup makers will mainly be used for making smooth or chunky soup, it’s great to be able to make other food types too.

Hi Rose - I haven't tried it but I don't think I would, the milk and rice will likely stick to the bottom of the soup maker and burn in my opinion.

I also find the soup maker great for making a good basic gravy either for slow cooker recipes or just to pour on a cooked meal
