What You Need

For exact measurements and instructions head down to the recipe card at the bottom of this post.

ingredients for cooking pork belly slices in an air fryer: 6 raw pork belly slices, seasoning, BBQ sauce and measuring spoons

Pork Belly Slices

I used pork belly that had already been sliced.

Seasoning

I used a little salt and pepper, smoked paprika and garlic powder.

BBQ Sauce

I used premade BBQ sauce, but you can also make your own.

Oil

I used 1 tbsp of olive oil to help crisp up the pork.

Air Fryer

You can use any type of air fryer to cook pork belly slices.

Air Fryer Liners

These are optional. I cooked the pork directly in the air fryer basket without any liners. If you want to line your basket and you don’t have any liners you can use baking paper instead.

Preparing and Cooking Them

Start by patting the pork belly slices dry with some kitchen paper. This step helps to get that crispy pork texture.

In a bowl, mix together the olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. This blend of spices will infuse the pork belly with a rich, savoury flavour.

Brush the pork belly slices with the blend of spices until all the sides are coated.

Transfer the pork belly slices to the air fryer basket. You can line your air fryer with baking paper or liners for easier cleanup. Air fry at 200°C/400°F for 15 minutes, turning them at the halfway point to ensure even cooking.

After 15 minutes, open the air fryer basket and brush the pork belly with the BBQ sauce and air fry for a further 5 minutes. This final touch adds a sweet and tangy layer to the crispy pork belly, making it irresistible.
