These air-fried steak fajitas are perfect for busy weeknights when you want something delicious without all the fuss. Juicy steak, colourful peppers, and just the right amount of spice come together quickly.
What You Need
Please refer to the recipe card at the bottom of the post for more concise instructions or to print it out.
For the Fajitas:
500g steak – sirloin or rump works great, thinly sliced, or any pre sliced stir fry beef the supermarket is selling
2 bell peppers (go for a mix of colours—red, yellow, green—it’s up to you!), sliced
1 large onion, sliced
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp chilli powder (optional, but perfect if you love a bit of heat)
Salt and black pepper to taste
Note: you can use a pre mixed fajita spice mix in place of the the seperate spices.
For Serving:
4–6 flour tortillas
Sour cream
Guacamole or sliced avocado
Salsa
Fresh coriander (optional, but it adds a pop of freshness)
Lime wedges (for that zesty finish!)
How To Make It
Step 1: Prep the Steak and Veggies
Grab a big bowl and add the thinly sliced steak, peppers, and onions. Drizzle everything with olive oil, then sprinkle on the garlic powder, smoked paprika, cumin, chilli powder, and a good pinch of salt and pepper. Give it all a toss until everything’s coated in those lovely spices.
Step 2: Preheat the Air Fryer
Switch your air fryer on and preheat it to 200°C (400°F) for about 3 minutes. Preheating helps to sear the steak as it hits the base of the air fryer basket, I also spray it with a little olive oil.
Step 3: Cook the Fajita Mixture
Add the steak and veggies to the air fryer basket. Cook for 7–10 minutes, giving the basket a good shake halfway through. The cooking time depends on how well-done you like your steak, so keep an eye on it.
Step 4: Warm the Tortillas
Once your fajitas are done, wrap the tortillas in foil and pop them in the air fryer for 1–2 minutes. Take care not to over cook them, they should come out soft and warm.

Step 5: Assemble Your Fajitas
Now for the fun part—assembling! Fill each tortilla with the sizzling steak and veggie mix, then go wild with your favourite toppings. Sour cream, guacamole, salsa, fresh coriander—whatever you love. Don’t forget a squeeze of lime over the top for that extra zing.
Step 6: Serve and Enjoy!
Serve them up straight away with some extra lime wedges on the side.
Tips
Marinate for Extra Flavour: Marinate the steak in olive oil, lime juice, garlic, and fajita spices for 30 minutes to an hour before cooking.
Turn Up the Heat: If you’re a spice lover, add some sliced jalapeños or a pinch of cayenne pepper to the mix.
Alternative Idea For Fajitas
I have recently bought myself a Crimpit (the one for tortilla wraps) and I’m having lots of fun experimenting with different fillings. These steak fajitas are perfect for it (let me know if you want any more recipe ideas for the Crimpit!)
