What You Need:

Ninja Foodi Bolognese Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 500g (1lb) minced (ground) beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 carrots, peeled and finely chopped (optional veg)
  • 2 celery sticks, finely chopped (optional veg)
  • 1 can (400g) chopped tomatoes or passata
  • 2 tbsp tomato puree
  • 250ml beef stock
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 400g spaghetti to serve
  • Parmesan cheese, grated, to serve

Making It:

saute onions in pressure cooker

Begin by setting your pressure cooker to sauté mode and adding the oil. After a few minutes, when it is hot, add the chopped onions and cook for a few minutes; try not to let them stick to the bottom of the pot.

saute mince in Ninja Foodi

Add the minced beef and garlic. Cook until the mince is browned. If anything sticks to the bottom of the pot, use some of the hot stock to scrape it off (with a wooden or silicon spatula).

add tomatoes to bolognese in Ninja Foodi

Add the celery and carrots if using, followed by the chopped tomatoes (or passata), tomato puree, dried mixed herbs, beef stock and salt and pepper, according to taste.

Give everything a good stir to combine.

setting Ninja Foodi for bolognese

Switch the saute function off and secure the lid on the pressure cooker. Set it to high pressure for 10 minutes.

While the bolognese is cooking, prepare the spaghetti according to package instructions.

Once the cooking time is up, use the quick release function to release the pressure. If the bolognese sauce is too runny, switch the Foodi back to saute and simmer until it has thickened.

Serve the bolognese over the cooked spaghetti and top with grated Parmesan cheese.
