Air Fryer Chicken Breast in Garlic Butter

There are so many different chicken recipes that can be made in an air fryer. While I was making my chicken Kievs in the air fryer last week, I had some chicken breasts left over, so I decided to test out some chicken breasts in garlic butter.

They were just as tasty as the Kievs, but much easier and quicker to make!

What You Need

The ingredients below are enough for two servings (two chicken breasts); you can scale up or down accordingly.

For more concise ingredients or to print out this recipe, please refer to the recipe card at the bottom of this post.

  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 40g butter
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 tbsp fresh parsley or 1/2 tsp dried parsley (optional)

You will also need some foil or an air fryer suitable container to put the chicken and garlic butter in.

I cooked them in a Ninja Dual Air Fryer, but you can use any model of air fryer.

Making Them

If you want a quicker method, skip down to the next section.

Start by preparing the garlic butter. Mix the softened butter with the garlic cloves and parsley until it is well combined.

Transfer the garlic butter to some cling film and arrange it in a block or log shape. Wrap it up and put it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to harden up.

Remove the garlic butter from the fridge and divide in half.

Lay each chicken breast on a rectangular piece of foil and place a piece of garlic butter on each one.

Wrap each chicken in foil, not too tight, and fold the ends over to prevent any of the garlic butter from leaking out.

Transfer to the air fryer basket; you should be able to fit two ‘parcels’ in each Ninja Dual basket.

Air fry at 180°C for 18 to 20 minutes or until the internal temperature is 75°C (I really recommend a meat thermometer to check).

Lay the chicken breasts on their own rectangle of foil. Add half the butter to each one, placing it on top of each breast. Crush a garlic clove on top of each chunk of butter. Optionally sprinkle with dry or fresh parsley.

And that’s it – a simple air fryer recipe that is quick to prepare and full of tasty garlicky flavour!
