With the help of an air fryer and a few ingredients, you can easily make these tasty chicken tikka kebabs.
These kebabs are incredibly delicious – the diced chicken is supremely juicy on the inside yet wonderfully full of flavour due to their coating of spices and yoghurt marinade.
How To Make Chicken Tikka Kebabs In An Air Fryer
These kebabs can be made in any air fryer model.
Even if you don’t have kebab sticks, you can still make chicken tikka pieces in your air fryer and add them to the air fryer basket.
What You Need:
Depending on the size of the chicken you use, four chicken breasts should be enough to make eight kebabs.
- Chicken – I used four chicken breasts, but you could also use boneless chicken thighs.
- Yoghurt – I used 100ml – 150ml of Greek natural yoghurt, but you can use any plain yoghurt.
- Tikka Paste/Powder – You can use a premade or homemade tikka paste or spice mix. I used four tablespoons of tikka paste.
You can also use tikka curry powder if you don’t have any paste.
- An air fryer – as this is a recipe specifically for kebabs in an air fryer, you need one to make them! Chicken kebabs can, of course, also be made on a BBQ or in an oven. I made these particular kebabs in my Ninja Foodi 15 in 1 (using the air fryer function), but I have made similar kebabs in other air fryers, including a Ninja Dual air fryer.
I used the air fryer function of the Ninja Foodi 15 in 1:

Making It
Start by cutting the chicken up into bite-sized chunks. Try to make them as evenly sized as possible, and don’t cut them too large, or they will take longer to cook.
Combine the yoghurt with the tikka paste (or powder if using).
Mix everything together until it is well combined.

Add the chopped chicken and submerge it until it is coated. Leave the chicken to marinate for at least thirty minutes or overnight if you have the time.
Preheat the air fryer to 180°C for about five minutes while you thread the chicken chunks onto the kebab sticks if you are using them.
About Using Kebab Sticks
You can use any kebab sticks in the air fryer. I bought some to add to my air fryer accessories collection, but you can use any that you already have.
This is the one I used (I bought it from Amazon). It fits in the Ninja Foodi 15-in-1, but you might need a different style to fit other models.
The only downside is the chicken marinade does brush up against the pot a little bit, but fortunately, this didn’t affect their cooking.
If you can, leave a little space between each chicken chunk so that they can cook a little quicker all over, but if they keep sliding down, don’t worry too much; just cut into one of the larger chunks at the end to make sure they are cooked all the way through.
Remember, if you don’t have any kebab sticks, you can add the loose chicken chunks direct to the air fryer basket, as I did with my air fryer chicken fajitas.
Air fry them for 20 to 25 minutes. Check on them at 20 minutes and see if they are ready.
As my chicken chunks were a little larger, I kept them in for closer to 25 minutes to ensure they were cooked through.
Remember, some air fryers work at different power and efficiency, so keep an eye on them the first time you make them.
At the end of the air frying time, carefully remove the chicken kebabs from the air fryer.
What To Serve With Chicken Tikka Kebabs
Chicken tikka kebabs can be served alone or as part of a larger meal. We enjoyed ours with some rice and peas, but we had enough leftovers to serve in a wrap for lunch the next day.

This is a good recipe -very easy. I used the Ninja Foodi 15 in 1 with the kebab insert. I was able to increase amount of chicken to 1 kg with the same amount of marinade and it just fitted on the skewers. For me it took 20 mins to cook. Enjoyed by all the family. We look forward to more of your recipes. Thank you.
