🛒 What You Need To Roast Carrots In An Air Fryer

The beauty of this dish is its simplicity. Carrots are a versatile vegetable, rich in flavour and nutrients. When roasted, their natural sugars caramelise, enhancing their inherent sweetness.

The addition of honey (which is optional) brings an extra layer of sweetness, perfect for those who enjoy a bit of a sugary glaze.

You can also combine carrots and parsnips and roast them at the same time in an air fryer.

Air fryer – any model is suitable

👩‍🍳 How To Air Fry Carrots

Step 1

Start by preparing your carrots. Cut off the ends and optionally peeling them. Chop the carrots into equal sizes will help ensure they cook evenly.

Once chopped, drizzle them with oil and toss to ensure they’re well-coated. This not only adds flavour but also helps them achieve that roasted and slightly crispy exterior.

For a touch of sweetness, brush on some honey, then season with salt and pepper to your liking.

Step 2

Transfer the prepared carrots to the air fryer basket.

Set your air fryer to 200°C/400°F and 15 to 18 minutes. The key to perfect air-fried carrots is to give the basket a good shake at the halfway mark. This ensures even cooking and perfect caramelisation.

Remember, different sized carrots cook at different rates, so keep an eye on them. You’re aiming for a soft centre with a slightly crispy exterior. If needed, extend the cooking time until they reach your desired level of doneness.
